Refrain :

θα ‘χουν το πάνω χέρι;
Θα μας περνά για ένα ηλίθιο κοπάδι;
της δικαιοσύνης και της δουλειάς;
Sauf des mouchards et des gendarmes,
On ne voit plus par les chemins,
Que des vieillards tristes en larmes,
Des veuves et des orphelins.
Paris suinte la misère,
Les heureux mêmes sont tremblant.
La mode est aux conseils de guerre,
Et les pavés sont tous sanglants.

Refrain:
Oui mais !
Ça branle dans le manche,
Les mauvais jours finiront.
Et gare ! à la revanche,
Quand tous les pauvres s’y mettront.
Quand tous les pauvres s’y mettront.

On traque, on enchaîne, on fusille

In 1871, in Paris, the first power to the workers showed that the oppressed proletariat was able to build another class society.

The Communards were Workers

Tribute to workers, women, the revolutionaries of the Paris Commune were the first in history, tried to storm the bourgeois power rather than lie to their oppressors

The people of Paris rebelled

The bourgeoisie had to leave Paris with his army, its police, its courts and all its oppressive paraphernalia. Workers have built a whole new power …

You want to verify that the Paris Commune was not a political power like the others. So read this poster:

Text displays affixed before the election of the Commune of Paris:

«Citizens,

Do not lose sight of the men who serve you best are the ones you choose among you, live your life, with the same problems. Beware especially of ambitious upstarts; each other as only consult their own interests always come to see themselves as indispensable. Beware also of speakers, unable to take action; they will sacrifice everything to a fine speech to effect an oratory or spiritual word. Also avoid those whom fortune has favored too, because too often the one who has the fortune is disposed to regard the worker as a brother. Finally, look for men with sincere belief, men of the people, committed, active, having a right direction and recognized honesty. Wear your preferences on those who do not vie for your votes; the real merit is modest, and it is up to voters to choose their men, not these arise. Citizens, we are convinced that if you take into account these observations, you will finally inaugurated the true popular representation, you’ll find attorneys who never consider themselves your masters.

The Central Committee of the National Guard «

The Central Committee of the National Guard, located at City Hall since the evening of March 18, says in his appeal to voters on March 22, his conception of democracy: «The members of the Municipal Assembly, constantly controlled, monitored, discussed by the public, are revocable accountable and responsible. «

This is confirmed by the elected Commune in its Official Journal of 21 March 1871

«The proletarians of Paris, amidst the failures and treasons of the ruling classes, have understood that the time had come for them to save the situation by taking over the management of public affairs. «

Friedrich Engels wrote:

«The Social-Democratic philistine has once again been invaded by a terrible fright to the pronunciation of words ¨ ¨ dictatorship of the proletariat. Well, gentlemen, do you know what this dictatorship looks like? Look at the Paris Commune, that was the dictatorship of the proletariat. «

Thiers had not planned the defection of the troops. Panicked, he fled Paris and ordered the army and government to completely evacuate the city and surrounding forts. Thiers wanted to save the army he could be the away from the revolutionary «contagion.» The remnants of his forces – some openly insubordinate, singing and chanting revolutionary slogans – withdrew in disorder to Versailles.

With the collapse of the old state apparatus, the National Guard took all strategic points of the city without encountering significant resistance. The Central Committee had played no role in these events. And yet, on the evening of March 18, he discovered that, despite himself, he became the de facto government of a revolutionary new system based on the armed power of the National Guard. «The March 18, 1871,» writes in his book Talès Commune of 1871, «has no equivalent in our revolutionary history. It’s a strange day when you see a crowd, usually passive, cause the collapse, but probably local total of bourgeois institutions. «

The first task that the majority of the Central Committee settled was to get rid of the power was in his hands. After all, they said, we have no «legal mandate» to govern! After lengthy discussions, the Central Committee reluctantly agreed to stay at City Hall for a «few days» during which municipal elections (municipal) could be organized. Under the cry of «Vive la Commune! «The members of the Central Committee were relieved to know that they have to exercise power for some time! The immediate problem they faced was Thiers and the army on the way to Versailles. Eudes and Duval proposed to immediately walk on Versailles National Guard in order to break what remained of force available to Thiers. Their pleas fell on deaf ears. The majority of the Central Committee thought it was best not to appear as the aggressors. The Central Committee was composed in its majority of men very moderate, with neither the temperament nor the ideas did not correspond to the great historical task that is presented to them. (From wikipedia)

The program of the City

Elected March 26, 1871, the Paris city council, dominated by Republicans and radicalized socialists proclaimed himself the Paris Commune. The rebel government sets out its program.

«As painful and terrible that still threatens Paris the horrors of the siege and bombardment, (…) conflict the Paris Commune duty (…) to specify the nature of the movement of 18 March, misunderstood, unknown and slandered by politicians who sit at Versailles. [Paris request]

THE COMMON IS NOT DEAD!

«At the dawn of March 18, Paris was awakened by the cry of thunder Vive la Commune! What is it that the Commune, that sphinx that puts the bourgeois mind if ordeal? The proletariat of the capital, said the Central Committee in its manifesto of March 18, amidst the failures and treasons of the ruling classes, have understood that the time had come for them to save the situation by taking over the management of business public … The proletariat … realized it was his bounden duty and their absolute right to take charge of its destiny, and ensure the triumph in seizing power. But the working class can not simply lay hold of as it is the state apparatus and make it work for its own account. (…) The imperial system is the prostitute and at the same time as the ultimate form of the state power, the emerging bourgeois society was born, as the tool of his own emancipation from feudalism, and the company bourgeois reached its full development was eventually turned into a way to enslave the working capital. The direct antithesis of the Empire was the Commune.(…) Paris got rid of the army and was replaced by a National Guard, whose mass was made up of workers. It is this fact that it was now transformed into a sustainable institution. The first decree of the Commune was thus the abolition of the standing army, and its replacement by the armed people. The Commune was formed of the municipal councilors, chosen by universal suffrage in the various wards of the city. They were responsible and revocable at any time. The majority of its members were naturally working men, or acknowledged representatives of the working class. The Commune was to be not a parliamentary body, but a body acting, executive and legislative at the same time. Instead of continuing to be the instrument of the central government, the police was at once stripped of its political attributes, and turned into an instrument of the Commune, responsible and revocable at any time. It was the same for officials of all other branches of government. Since the members of the Commune downwards of the scale, the public should be provided for a wage laborer. The benefits of usage and representation allowances of the high dignitaries of state disappeared along with the high dignitaries themselves. Utilities ceased to be the private property of the creatures of the central government. Not only municipal administration, but the whole initiative hitherto exercised by the State was placed in the hands of the Commune. Once abolished the standing army and the police, instruments equipment to the former government, the Commune gave the task of breaking the spiritual tool of oppression, the power of the priests; it decreed the dissolution and the expropriation of all the Churches insofar as they were propertied body. The priests were returned to the quiet retreat of privacy, to live alms of the faithful, like their predecessors, the apostles. All educational institutions were opened to people for free, and at the same time, free of any interference of the church and the state. Thus, not only education was made accessible to all, but science itself was released irons which class prejudice and governmental authority had charged. The court officials were stripped of this sham independence which had only served to mask their abject submission to successive governments which, in turn, they had sworn loyalty to the then raped.Like the rest of public servants, magistrates and judges should be elected, responsible and revocable. «

In «The Civil War in France» Karl Marx

«The Paris Commune (1871) is the first attempt of the proletarian revolution to break the bourgeois state machine. It is the political form at last discovered by what we can and must replace what has been broken. «

Lenin «The State and Revolution».

«When the Paris Commune took the leadership of the revolution in his own hands when ordinary workers, for the first time, the government dared touch privilege of their» natural superiors «, the wealthy, and in the circumstances of a without difficulty example, performed their work modestly, conscientiously and effectively (and accomplished for wages, the highest was barely a fifth of what, according to high scientific authority, Professor Huxley, is the minimum required to secretary of the Board of Education, London), the old world writhed in convulsions of rage at the sight of the red flag, symbol of the Republic of labor, floating on the Hotel de Ville. Yet c ‘ was the first revolution in which the working class was openly acknowledged as the only one that was still capable of social initiative, even by the great mass of the middle class in Paris. «Karl Marx in» The Civil War in France «

All this does not prevent Nicolas

That the Commune is not dead.

All this does not prevent Nicolas

That the Commune is not dead!

This is the ax of Damocles

Hanging over their heads.

At the funeral of Vallès,

They were all beasts

Fact is that there was a bunch proud

At escort him

C ‘which proves all cases Nicolas,

Qu’la Commune is not dead.

C ‘which proves all cases Nicolas,

Qu’la Commune is not dead!

In short, everything that proves the combatant

That Marianne has brown skin,

The dog in the stomach and it is time

To shout Vive la Commune!

And it proves to all Judas

Qu’si it works that way

They feel little in the name of God,

Qu’la Commune is not dead.

They feel little in the name of God,

Qu’la Commune is not dead!

The social revolution is the only thing they will not fly

With the new 2008 crisis, we can no longer rely, to live and support our families, institutions of society and social system that has ruled for so many years, many workers say how we will live? Well yes, we all lived under capitalism and we must recognize the truth: this system collapses of itself. It has reached its limits. If the Capital refuses to provide a salary at Work, workers must spend capital to run the company. Some are skeptical. «It is not possible. It did not work.«They say. A few days before the anniversary of the Paris Commune of March 18, 1871, it should be noted that the Commune, directed and governed by ordinary workers had so well that the only solution that found the French bourgeoisie, c ‘ is to kill all the workers of Paris!

Today, 138 years later, the working class has become a world-class, which plays a central role socially in all cities of the world on all continents. He still has to change a bad habit of letting members of profiteering governing classes. Do as did the Communards of 1871 to organize committees of workers and people who make the decisions and do not govern in the interests of a small minority of profiteers. So yes, if we cease to believe in the inevitability of the operation, the crisis has had something good!

Social revolution, many workers fear it by saying that it will be sacrifices. It’s true: the capitalists and their states will not let them. But who can believe that for us to pay a systemic crisis, employers are not ready for any violence, even if the workers do not snap great fights? When Hitler took power, there was no revolutionary struggle. Fascism had a preventive role.

It will not prevent class struggles. It is better to carry consciously. And for that, we must now lead the defensive struggle of jobs and wages in order to transform the balance of power and then pass from the defensive to the offensive. It is the capitalist class that has reached a stalemate, and with it, all reformist organizations, but the working class retains all of its capabilities.

The working class is the greatest social force internationally. The future depends on it. It alone has the ability to prevent the catastrophe that humanity is preparing for us. This requires that it does not cling to «saviors» like Obama, Sarkozy or others, she is not afraid to unite across borders and rejects nationalist protectionist and xenophobic sirens, to adopt clearly its own flag: the red flag of the workers of the world!

Marx-Engels

The chairman of the meeting Slavic convened March 21, 1881 to commemorate the Paris Commune

Citizens

To our great regret, we must inform you that we are not able to attend your meeting.

When the Paris Commune finally succumbed and was massacred by the defenders of the «order», the victors had no idea, of course, he would not spend ten years before, in the distant Petersburg it takes place an event which, no doubt, after a long and violent struggle, will not fail to lead also to the creation of a Russian commune.

They had no idea either that the King of Prussia had prepared the Common besieging Paris and forcing the bourgeois power to arm the people, that this same King of Prussia, ten years later, would be besieged in his own capital by the Socialists and he could not save his throne in declaring a state of siege in the capital Berlin.

Similarly, systematic persecution after the fall of the Commune, the International Workers’ Association to force him to abandon his formal and external organization, the continent’s governments thought they could destroy, by decrees and laws of exception, the great international labor movement and had no idea that the same international labor movement would be ten years later, more powerful than ever and extends not only to the working classes of Europe, but also to those of America, and the common struggle for common interests against a common enemy spontaneously meet a new and larger International, which far exceeds its external forms of organization.

Thus, the City that the powers of the old world thought they had exterminated lives stronger than ever, and we can exclaim with you: Vive la Commune!
